Role of City Council City Council is comprised of the Mayor and six Councillors. All members of Council hold office for three-year terms. The Mayor chairs meetings of Council and is an ex-officio member of all Council Committees and all bodies to which Council has the right to appoint members. Council also contains seven special committees: Finance and Intergovernmental , Community Safety Committee, Environmental Enhancement Committee, Healthy Community Committee, Smart Growth Committee, Social Inclusion Committee, Transportation Solutions & Operations Committee. City Council holds two regular meetings each month (excluding August). Meetings are open to the public and agendas are available from City Hall or by clicking here . Please note that City Councillors do not maintain regular office hours at City Hall and may be contacted at their residences or via email as noted below and in their respective profiles.
