Utility Discount
Seniors and people with disabilities on a limited income will get some help with their utility bill from the City.
A new program in 2010 offers a discount of $160 for water and $140 for sewer to property owners who meet all of the following criteria:

Please complete and return the application before the due date to avoid penalty. A completed application must be submitted to the City Collector by December 31st of the current year or the application for discount will be denied.

- either 65 years of age or over at any time during the calendar year in which the charge is assessed, OR are disabled and receiving assistance or a supplement under the BC Employment and Assistance for persons with disabilities,
- living on the property and considering it to be their principal residence,
- do not own any other property as defined in the Assessment Act,
- the property does not contain a suite, and
- total annual income does not exceed $22,171 per person or $27,601 per household.
