Advisory Committees and Task Forces
Assist City Council and/or City Staff with planning and coordinating a special event task force or as a citizen advisor to a statutory committee. Arts & Culture
Contribute to the beautification and cultural life of the City by participating in arts, heritage and cultural activities. Opportunities: Community Banner Workshop Assistant, Theatre Assistant, Village Host.

Aquatics Area
Gain confidence and experience by sharing your love of the water with new swimmers (from water babies to adults) by assisting an Aquatic Leader with a swim class or special event and / or by shadow guarding. You might also assist at special swims such as Pro-D Days, Halloween, Christmas, etc.
Opportunities: Learn to Swim, Lifeguard, Special events.

Emergency Preparedness
Be prepared to assist the City’s Emergency Coordinator’s office in the event of a major emergency. We provide training in Personal Family Preparedness, Fire Suppression, Rapid Damage Assessment, Light Urban Search and Rescue, First Aid Awareness and more. Ice Skating
Assist Learn to Skate Instructors teach children ages 2 to 12 basic skating and hockey skills in a fun and supportive program. Opportunity: Learn to Skate Instructor's assistant.

In-line Skating
In a team environment, promote recreational, non-competitive play while building skill development and providing equal opportunities for boys and girls in one of our three age divisions: 6-8yrs, 9-11yrs and 12-14yrs. This program runs April until June of each year. Opportunities: In-Line Assistant Coach, In-Line Coach.

Leisure Buddies
Enable members of our community to participate in opportunities to increase their health and wellness, education and/or personal development. If you have an interest, experience or education in supporting people with special needs, this opportunity may be for you! Opportunity: Leisure Assistant.

Special Events
Assist City staff or other volunteers at a community event or celebrations. Events include May Day, Canada Day, Rivers and Trails, Halloween Howl ReVamped, etc. Opportunities: Arts and Crafts, Event - Activity planner, General Special event volunteer, Merchandise sales.

Fitness & Active Communities
Guide, support and motivate participants in a walking or running program. Opportunity: Walk - Run Leaders.

Tots & Children / Day Camps
Assist an instructor in programs to mentor children 1-10 years of age by reading stories, helping with arts & crafts, face painting, playing sports, games and more. Opportunities: Children Day Camp, Special events - Tots and Children, Tots and Children Programs.

Wilson Senior's Centre
Make friends while spending a couple of hours helping out or sharing a skill at the Centre. Help provide our seniors with that extra special attention that ensures successful programs, special events and services.
Opportunities: Baker, Blood Pressure Monitor, Counter Service, Income tax preparer, Food Preparer.

Youth Programs
Be a positive role model by encouraging youth ages 11-18, and help them develop skills and abilities. By assisting in City youth programs, you can help the Youth Workers provide fun, safe activities for teens during Open Gyms, Youth Dances, L8 Nite Skate or Swim, or share your special skill with teens in our Youth Centres. Opportunities: Friday night dance - electric cafe - special event, Open Gym, Youth Centre - drop in programs, Youth Centre Kitchen and Concession.
