Click here for information about post-construction traffic monitoring and improvements.

Project Overview
Opened on March 7, 2010, the Coast Meridian Overpass is a critical new transportation link between north and south Port Coquitlam and for the entire region. The project's Design-Build contract was awarded to SNC-Lavalin Constructors (Pacific) Inc. in January 2008. Construction began in March 2008.
The project:
Added a third north-south transportation link across the Canadian Pacific Railway yard;- Improves access to community facilities, commercial services and employment throughout the City;
- Improves emergency response times and reliability;
- Reduces air pollution caused by idling vehicles; and
- Reduces congestion on Lougheed Highway.
The City of Port Coquitlam and TransLink shared the cost for the project. (To view a PDF of the agreement, click here.) Funding was also received from the Province of British Columbia and ICBC. The CMO was one of the largest projects to be funded through TransLink’s Regional Major Road Network major capital program, and the City’s largest-ever transportation project.
Please see the links to the left for more details about the project.
