The City of Port Coquitlam is joining in Sports Day, a nation-wide celebration of sport and physical fitness, on September 16 and 17, 2011. Sport has incredible power. It can:
![]() In Canada today, nearly half of adults are considered inactive, and only 7% of children meet the Canadian Physical Activity Guideline recommending 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day. During the second annual Sports Day, ParticipACTION, True Sport and CBC Sports are encouraging municipalities across Canada to show their support for sport and physical activity in their communities. Jersey Day – September 16 Wear your favourite team jersey to work, school or wherever you go on Sept. 16! Mayor’s Road Hockey Game - September 17,12:30-3 pm FREE! Rowland Lacrosse Box, Wilson Avenue & Mary Hill Road Join Mayor Greg Moore for a free game of drop-in road hockey. All ages welcome – participate with your whole family! Healthy snacks, drinks and prizes will be provided to participants. Bring your own stick. KidSport will be on hand providing information and collecting donations. Elk’s Skate – September 17, 3:15-4:45 pm FREE! Port Coquitlam Recreation Complex, 2150 Wilson Avenue Bring the family down and join the Mayor and other members of the community for this free skate hosted by the Port Coquitlam Elks.
