Inviting the Mayor to your Function

The Mayor’s Office receives numerous invitations to various events that take place in and around the City of Port Coquitlam. To ensure that requests are tracked, recorded and processed in an equal and timely manner, the Mayor's Office requires that all invitations for the Mayor to attend events be submitted in writing. Invitations can be sent by mail, fax or email.

Please give the Mayor’s Office as much notice as possible for your event. One month's notice is preferred.

Invitation requests should include date, time and location of the event and the name of a contact person, including a relevant return address, email and/or telephone number. Additionally, be sure to include details regarding the specific role that you would like the Mayor to play at your event and a schedule of events. For example, indicate if you would like him to speak at your event, take part in a ceremony, etc. To ensure you've provided all the necessary information, please complete and submit the event invitation worksheet.

Once the Mayor has reviewed your invitation, you will receive a response indicating whether or not he is able to attend and you will be requested to complete an event invitation worksheet.  On certain occasions, the Acting Mayor or a member of City Council may represent the Mayor at events.
