Finance and Intergovernmental Committee
As the senior standing committee of Council, the Finance and Intergovernmental Committee is responsible for reviewing all matters referred to the Committee that are related to the overall administration of the City including human resources, the City’s finances including audit, and other government organizations. City Council or any member of Council individually, the Chief Administrative Officer, Director of Corporate Services, the Finance Officer, and the Manager of Human Resources may refer issues to the Committee for consideration and decision.

Responsible for matters related to animal control, bear awareness, bylaw enforcement, crime prevention, emergency preparedness, fire services, RCMP operations, and vector control.

Environmental Enhancement Committee
Responsible for reviewing all matters related to the environment such as climate change, energy conservation, solid waste (including garbage, recycling and composting), and watercourse stewardship.

Healthy Community Committee
Responsible for reviewing matters pertaining to achievement recognition, cemetery operations, civic festivals, cultural events, recreation facility maintenance and improvements, leisure activities and parks and sports field planning and maintenance. The overall objectives of the Committee are to enhance Port Coquitlam’s quality of life by nurturing the well being of its citizens, their communities and their environments and to help the citizens grow and reach for their physical, social, emotional, spiritual and leadership potentials.

Smart Growth Committee
Responsible for integrating the social, economic and environmental interests of the City in developing and reviewing policies and programs to manage the physical change and growth of the City.  Responsible for reviewing matters related to community and economic development such as, but not limited to building inspections, downtown revitalization, industrial and commercial promotion, the Official Community Plan, strata title subdivision, street naming and zoning. This committee also acts as the liaison with the Downtown Business Improvement Association and Chamber of Commerce.

Transportation Solutions & Operations Committee
Responsible for matters related to flood control, local improvement program, road improvements, sewer and water services, traffic safety, transportation, and transit.
