Did You Know Graphic Did You Know: Blakeburn Park - The name commemorates the long-vanished Blakeburn Ranch that thrived in the area in the 1920s. The "Burn" element of the name came from Pat Burns, the meat packer whose Burns Meats was a Canadian instituion for many years; the "Blake" from Blake Wilson. (The same two men were partners in the Blakeburn coast mine at Princeton, BC.) There was a time when hundreds of cattle were kept at the ranch, which covered more than 324 hectares (800 acres).
