Mobile phone users now have easier access to City information through the new mobile website launched on December 7. Found at m.portcoquitlam.ca (no www. required), the mobile website features streamlined, faster-loading content targeted specifically to mobile phones and devices.

Port Coquitlam’s website received more than 10,000 visits in 2010 from mobile devices. That number is expected to grow with the increased ease-of-use provided by the new mobile site.

Apple and Blackberry products were the most common mobile devices to access our website in 2010:
  • 65%: iPhone
  • 14%: iPod Touch
  • 10%: Blackberry

  • Accessible by all mobile phones.
  • Mobile-friendly design customized to your specific phone’s resolution.
  • Content specifically tailored for mobile phones, providing convenient access to important information.
  • Faster-loading content, which uses less data and preserves batteries.
  • The mobile site can also be accessed directly through m.portcoquitlam.ca or via a link on the City website, www.portcoquitlam.ca
  • A special interface has been developed for iPhone/iPod Touch users – the most frequent mobile visitors to our site.
  • A link at the bottom of the mobile site pages provides access to the regular City website interface at any time.
Content
Content on the mobile site includes on-the-go information such as:
  • Locations, contact information and hours for all City facilities, including recreation centres
  • Leisure Guide
  • Waste collection schedules
  • Community events information
Additional mobile-friendly content will be added over time.

How to access the site:
  • Directly through m.portcoquitlam.ca (no www.)
  • Via a link on the City homepage
Please note: if you try to access the mobile site via your desktop computer, it will not render correctly as it is specifically coded for mobile devices.
